Park Circle might just be Charleston’s best-kept culinary secret. Located just north of the historic downtown peninsula, this up-and-coming North Charleston neighborhood has transformed into a vibrant foodie haven, full of flavor, character, and community charm. Whether you’re craving ramen, tacos, Southern comfort, or wood-fired pizza, Park Circle delivers with a lineup of locally loved spots that are anything but ordinary.
As Park Circle natives, here are some of our favorite Park Circle restaurants you should have on your radar:
Jackrabbit Filly – $$$ – Indoor Only
Run by a husband-and-wife duo, Jackrabbit Filly brings Chinese-American soul food to the neighborhood in a way that feels both familiar and entirely new. At the helm is Chef Shuai Wang, who recently earned national recognition as the runner-up on the finale of Top Chef: Destination Canada. His creativity and bold flavors shine through in every dish. The menu rotates seasonally, but don’t skip the “Sichuan hot karrage”, a staple of the menu we get without fail every time we are there. With its vibrant menu, warm hospitality, and now a Top Chef star in the kitchen, Jackrabbit Filly is easily one of the most exciting dining experiences in the Charleston area. It’s no surprise, as the first restaurant on our list, that Jackrabbit Filly is our favorite of all of the restaurants in park circle.

Sesame Burgers & Beer – $$ – Indoor/Outdoor
A Park Circle staple, Sesame is where comfort food meets creative flair. Tucked just off the main strip of Montague Avenue on Spruill, it’s a must-stop for burger lovers and casual diners alike. When it comes to restaurants in Park Circle, Sesame stands out for its wide range of burger options; from turkey, chicken, and veggie patties to the classic grass-fed beef and even bison. Each one comes stacked with house-made sauces and inventive toppings. A personal favorite is the “Hangover Burger”, topped with hickory-smoked bacon, ham, and even a fried egg. Pair it with a local craft beer, grab a seat on the patio, and soak in the neighborhood vibes.

Katsubo Ramen – $$$ – Indoor/Outdoor
Relatively new to the scene, Katsubo has quickly earned a loyal following for its rich, savory broths and generous bowls of ramen. Among Park Circle restaurants, Katsubo stands out for bringing bold Japanese flavors to the neighborhood. This spot goes beyond just noodles—the menu features a variety of ramen and non-ramen options, from crispy gyoza and Japanese curry to loaded rice bowls and one of the best okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancakes) we’ve had. The vibe is casual and welcoming, perfect for a cozy night out, a quick lunch, or a midweek noodle fix. Their craft cocktails are just as thoughtfully prepared as their food, with options that pair beautifully with the bold, umami-packed flavors on the menu.

This one-stop neighborhood favorite is the perfect place to grab a delicious sandwich, sip on a well-crafted espresso, and browse a curated selection of locally made goods and custom merch (their designs are seriously cute). Our go-to breakfast pick is the smoked salmon on an everything bagel, and for lunch, don’t miss the roast beef; it’s a standout.
